ABOUT MY TIME AT

Nugget Markets, Inc.

Established in 1926, Nugget Markets is a family-run grocery chain in Northern California, known for its top-notch customer service and premium quality goods. Their 16 locations across the Sacramento Valley and Marin County, including Fork Lift by Nugget Markets, Sonoma Market, and Food4Less Woodland, offer a carefully curated selection of fresh perishables, chef-prepared meals, organic and specialty items, and everyday groceries. Nugget Markets prides itself on sourcing the finest products and delivering an extraordinary shopping experience.

As a Graphic Designer and Photographer for Nugget Markets’ in-house marketing team nearly 3 years, I was able to partake in a wide range of work for the company. Each day, I combined design, photography, and illustration into various formats, including weekly ads, ROP ads, signage, posters, digital content, publications, packaging, branding, video support, and large scale out of home such as truck wraps and billboards. I supported the team with diverse tasks, such as creating presentation decks, conducting website usability audits, and designing campaign webpages. Additionally, I led design and branding efforts for Nuggets' sub brand Sonoma Market, developing all identity, digital and print materials.

All photography, design, copy, and food was produced (and consumed) by our in-house team and we had a beautiful unifying purpose – convincing people to buy food. However, our goal was more than to just sell groceries, it was to deliver a truly extraordinary grocery experience.

THE FIELD GUIDE

The Field Guide is a quarterly publication produced entirely in-house. Each issue provides readers with a wide variety of cooking tips, recipes, local vendor articles, new offerings, and much more. The Field Guide was designed to help encourage guests to cook more at home, get inspired, and to also share the wealth of knowledge that Nugget's associates have to offer. The Field Guide presents content that is informative, but conveys it in a light-hearted and fun way.
